In fact, ODell is taking a red-eye to the state capital of Columbia to celebrate the day in person and figures the honor gives her two reasons to party.
First, she says, Its always great to be honored by your home state, and second, visiting South Carolina gives her a chance to enjoy southern fried chicken, which she says is fried, greasy and buttered and better than anything in health-conscious Hollywood.
ODell says having her own day named after her is exciting, but admits shes had a hard time explaining to her nephews that they wont be getting it as a day off from school in future years.
In her words, They were hoping it was a holiday like Martin Luther King, Jr.s birthday, and I had to explain Im not quite at that level.
