According to the Institute on Religion and Democracy, the group learned that Soulforce, an organization that, according to its website, seeks freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people from religious and political oppression through the practice of relentless nonviolent resistance is supposedly planning a media stunt at the White Houses annual Easter Egg hunt on April 17.
The members of Soulforce plan to dominate the event by being the first 1,000 families at the event.
Mark Tooley, a spokesman for the IRD, says they obtained an e- mail that asked Soulforce members to keep their plans discreet and off websites in order to grab the media by surprise on the day of the event.
Tooley is critical of Soulforces plans saying, An Easter egg hunt shouldnt be used for political statement.
Spokespersons for Soulforce did not return reporters phone calls.
