Wyoming Hoping Tourism To Peak Over ‘Brokeback Mountain’

CHEYENNE, Wy. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The much-talked-about film Brokeback Mountain may be based on a fictitious mountain, but Wyoming tourism offices are hoping it will draw some visitors.

Michell Howard, the Wyoming Film Commissioner, says the state is hoping to see an increase in tourism in the area, and while they haven’t seen much response yet, they expect to see some as the film continues to open in wider release.

Howard says, so far, they have received a few inquiries for straight and gay-friendly activities.

While the actual mountain may be phony, Howard says the mountain range the story is set in is real and it offers a lot of outdoor activities including fishing, lodging and trails.
