Rick Springfield May Spawn Book Genre

RALEIGH, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – 1980s era rocker Rick Springfield is in the middle of a four-episode reunion on General Hospital and ABC execs have talked about keeping him around longer.

But it may be the book industry that resuscitates his career.

According to the print-on-demand publisher Lulu, the company has seen a surge in self-published books being written about Springfield.

The books are mostly a collection of photos and memories from his fans but perhaps the most unusual book of them all is one called RLS Cookbook, featuring recipes collected from Springfield fans.

One recipe is titled “Jessie’s Cheesy Guacamole Dip” and another is a chicken recipe from Springfield himself.

Stephen Fraser, online marketing manager for Lulu, says the books that are published on his site usually reflect the trends and obsessions of net nerds, and figures if Springfield’s celebrity status continues to rise, he may have to be given his own genre in the book industry.
