Are Competitive Eater Kobayashi’s Days Numbered?

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Japanese eating machine Takeru Kobayashi won the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Contest over this past weekend, but he may soon be eating his heart out.

Kobayashi held on to his record of 67 burgers, but those familiar with the bottomless pit know he has gone through a metabolic metamorphosis.

Kobayashi has become a body builder going from 130 pounds to 172 pounds of rippling muscle, and it’s rumored he spends three to four hours in the gym every day.

According to George Shea, spokesman for the International Federation of Competitive Eating, Kobayashi’s well-defined ab muscles may be his undoing by restricting the expansion of his stomach while he eats – a necessary skill needed while chowing down.

Shea says, “Many speculate the overdevelopment of his six-pack abs inhibit his ability to compete.”

That may be good news in the future for up-and-coming Joey Chestnut, who recently gave Kobayashi a run for his money, putting away 60 burgers during the food consuming contest.
