Bettors Can Now Throw Down Money On Chess

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One online sports book is betting that folks would love to wager on – out of all things – chess.

PinnacleSports.com has just become the first sports book to accept wagers on a professional chess league, the U.S. Chess League in this case.

The website is taking wagers on all team matches and every individual game in the new Wednesday night eight-team league that’s comprised of players from cities across the U.S.

PinnacleSports.com spokesman Kyle Fratini says it was only a matter of time before the game became a hotbed for gambling activity, adding, “There’s just a huge following for the game.”

Bettors can follow the action-packed matches via online video stream at chessclub.com and internet radio at chessfm.com. Fratini confirms, “Yes, it is play-by-play.”

Being able to bet on bull riding, dart games and bowling leagues may not be far off now, Fratini admits, adding, “No one ever thought chess would become a gambling sport.”
