Jacob Weisberg is the editor of Bushisms (Fireside Books), a series of books cataloguing the Presidents verbal goofs and gaffs.
Weisberg releases his fifth book on Oct. 4, but when he went to press earlier this summer, he planned to take a year off because he felt the number of good or bad quotes had diminished in recent years.
As he puts it, Five years of practicing speaking English has helped the President.
However, Hurricane Katrina changed things and now Weisberg is working overtime collecting key Katrina Bushisms such as the Sept. 2 statement: Were going to get someone who knows what theyre talking about when it comes to rebuilding cities.
Weisberg doesnt know when his book of Katrina-related Bushisms will be ready but he spends at least two hours a day culling them and says, thats more time than Bush spends thinking about what hes going to say.
