Hurricane Katrina Aftermath Creating A Perfect Storm Of Bushisms

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hurricane Katrina is having strange effects on all parts of America, including on a New York- based collector who compiles George W. Bush’s verbal blunders.

Jacob Weisberg is the editor of Bushisms (Fireside Books), a series of books cataloguing the President’s verbal goofs and gaffs.

Weisberg releases his fifth book on Oct. 4, but when he went to press earlier this summer, he planned to take a year off because he felt the number of good – or bad – quotes had diminished in recent years.

As he puts it, “Five years of practicing speaking English has helped the President.”

However, Hurricane Katrina changed things and now Weisberg is working overtime collecting key Katrina Bushisms such as the Sept. 2 statement: “We’re going to get someone who knows what they’re talking about when it comes to rebuilding cities.”

Weisberg doesn’t know when his book of Katrina-related “Bushisms” will be ready but he spends at least two hours a day culling them and says, “that’s more time than Bush spends thinking about what he’s going to say.”
