Actor Judges Success By His Action Figures

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some actors judge success by their salary but for Stephen Root, action figures speak louder than numbers.

Root – who is best known as Milton, the stapler-obsessed employee in the cult film Office Space – says he marks the success of a role by whether or not it inspires an action figure.

So far, Root has figures based on his role as “Bubbles” in Finding Nemo, Bill Dauterive from King Of The Hill and “Chode,” the stumpy purple alien he plays on Tripping The Rift, a Sci-Fi Channel animated show now beginning its second season.

Root keeps his action figures on display around the house but admits he’s surprised that no one has released figures based on the characters of Office Space, since he points out, “I get more autograph requests for that than anything else.”

That could change soon since Tripping The Rift – which also stars John Melendez and Carmen Electra – has its season premiere on Wednesday (Jul. 27).
