IPods Spawn New Form Of Personal Advertising: “AdCasts”

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An entrepreneur is tuning into success with a new form of advertising dubbed “adCasts.”

It works by using an iPod and an iTrip, – a short range FM transmitter – to broadcast commercials to other driver’s radios.

Business consultant David Wells says he spends a lot of time driving around Illinois drawing attention to his company with a sign on his car that reads “ B2B lead generation – Podcasting Now on 87.9 FM.”

Curious people who tune into the frequency hear his 45 second ad on a continual loop. Wells says his adCasts reach a radius of about seven car lengths if he turns the volume on his iPod up all the way.

Wells admits he doesn’t know his market share, but he says he thinks he’s “on the cutting edge of an idea.”

It seems to be working. The new clients who call after hearing his adCast want him to do the same for their business too.
