Little People Hold Big Conference

ORLANDO, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Contrary to the Randy Newman song, short people DO have a reason to live – their upcoming convention.

An organization called The Little People of America holds its annual national conference in Orlando, Florida, starting Saturday (Jul. 2) and it’s a big opportunity for them to network and take seminars designed for little people.

Some of the big workshops planned for the convention include Alterations/Sewing Issues; The Dwarf Politician: Seeking Office or Getting Elected in the Average-Sized World; The City Dwarf: How to Cope with Urban Living; and Car Adaptations and Other Handy Tips.

This year would seem like a banner year for little people with a new version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory hitting theaters, but the truth is the film uses only one little person as an Oompa Loompa and the rest are computer generated.

But, surprisingly, LPA members are keeping their little mouths shut over what some movie insiders say is a big injustice to little people.
