Cybill Shepherd No Longer Pooped Out By Irritable Bowel Syndrome

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Cybill Shepherd knows what it’s like to be pooped – she suffered Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) for 15 years before it was diagnosed.

Shepherd says she first noticed the bloating and cramping associated with IBS while working on the 1980s hit Moonlighting.

She pooh-poohs suggestions that IBS held up the show’s shooting schedule but admits it put a cramp in her private life. As she puts it, “There would be intense periods where I was just lying down on the couch.”

Even worse: Doctors kept telling her it was all in her head so she wasn’t diagnosed until a year ago and put on medication.

Now, Shepherd is giving the straight poop about IBS, which affects one in five Americans, mostly women.

In addition, she has just released a new CD, At Home With Cybill, and her new TV-movie about Martha Stewart’s prison term, Martha: Behind Bars, premieres Sept. 25 on NBC.
