Man Who Lives In Laundry Room Cleaning Up Competition In Contest

BURLINGTON, Conn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Think your living situation is bad? A Connecticut man who lives in the laundry room of his grandmother’s house probably has you beat.

Michael Cifone has lived in this situation the last six months to save money, and he’s one of three finalists hoping his sob story will win him $15,000 in the Room to Move Contest held by Apartments.com

Still, the 28-year-old says he doesn’t know what’s worse: the small living quarters, being startled awake every time the dryer buzzer goes off or the one time he saw his 85-year-old grandmom wearing only her sneakers.

Besides the unpleasant sights, noises, and claustrophobic feeling, Cifone believes he’s slowly turning into his grandmom and his 60-year-old mom, with whom he also lives.

Case in point: He now watches soap operas with a blanket wrapped around him and always finishes dinner before 5 p.m.

Voting for the contest ends at apartments.com on May 20, and Cifone says he’ll win because compared to him, the competition “doesn’t have it that bad.”
