Noses To Grow Even On National Honesty Day

STANLEY, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Just because tomorrow (Apr. 30) is National Honesty Day, doesn’t mean it will keep folks from fibbing.

The day of truth has been celebrated for the last decade, but psychotherapist Brad Blanton – the author of several honesty books – says the day hasn’t and won’t stop people from spreading lies any more so than any other day.

In his words, “We’ve been taught to lie since we were young so that’s not going to change for one day.”

Although politicians and lawyers get a bad rap for their perceived lying, Blanton says in reality, “we all lie like hell all the time.”

Blanton believes dishonesty is becoming too prevalent in American society and especially with those in the White House and Congress, who he calls “the biggest liars of them all.”

That’s why Blanton plans on running for the U.S. Congress in 2006 on the Green Party ticket and he hopes to bring a little truth to the political scene because at the rate it’s going, “...the country’s going to go straight to hell.”
