Wrestling Is Hard, Comedy Is Harder

PONCE INLET, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Wrestling is hard work but comedy is even harder.

That’s what pro wrestler Kevin Nash has learned while playing a prison guard in Adam Sandler’s upcoming remake of The Longest Yard.

Nash says the role was a stretch for him because he is usually cast “as a mindless thug with no dialogue.”

Still, he relished the opportunity to tackle a comedic role and says he was thrilled that Sandler encouraged him to “go way out” in his role.

But while Nash relished the opportunity to flex his acting muscles, there were some things that were outrageous even for him. As he puts it, “I think the biggest challenge was the scene where I dance with transvestite cheerleaders.”

The Longest Yard will be released May 27 and Nash hopes his performance convinces Hollywood bigwigs to cast him as the lead in a remake of Charlton Heston’s 1971 sci-fi film, The Omega Man.
