Query Letters Are Your Best Entertainment Value

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Would you watch a movie about a pack of seagulls that spread herpes? What about a musical about a promiscuous choirboy who spreads a sexually transmitted disease around a conservative southern university?

Believe it or not, those are just a few of the asinine film ideas proposed by aspiring screenwriters. Although those concepts will never make it to the big screen, they are being immortalized at the website.

The man behind the bad idea blog is a top showbiz exec who goes by the name “Manager Guy,” who started the bad idea blog four months ago because, in his words, “Too many amateurs don’t know the difference between a concept and a movie.”

For example, one person sent Manager Guy an idea about a statue that cures disease in one person but transfers it to another. He admits it sounds good at first but asks, “How do you make that cinematic?”

Manager Guy thinks posting the kooky query letters has had a positive effect but admits it won’t help some people. That’s because only one out of 500 queries makes him want to read the script and many are so bad that, as he puts it, “the people shouldn’t be writing at all.”
