‘Law & Order’ Spinoffs Unspeakably Good For Narrator

VENICE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You may not know Steve Zirnkilton by name but if you’ve been near a TV set since 1990, you’ve probably heard his voice.

Zirnkilton is the guy who does the opening narration for Law & Order as well as spinoff series like Law & Order: SVU; Law & Order: Criminal Intent; Law & Order: Crime And Punishment; and the newest addition, Law & Order: Trial By Jury.

It’s been an unspeakably good gig for Zirnkilton, since the show seems to air constantly in reruns so his voice is probably heard every hour of every day.

His narration has appeared on every episode, except for the original Law & Order pilot but, he points out, “I did a bit part on that episode so I’m the only person who’s been on every single one.”

Trial By Jury premieres Thursday (March 3) and Zirnkilton figures people will be talking about his opening narration as much as the rest of the series because “it most resembles the original narration I did on the first series in 1990.”

Zirnkilton’s voice appears on camera more than his face but he’s crossing his fingers that Trial By Jury producers will cast him as a jury member on a future episode.
