Fashion Model-Turned-Exterminator Easy On Eyes, Tough On Bugs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A former fashion model has sprayed her way to the top of the pest control world.

Eight years ago, Genma Stringer Holmes went from the runway to strutting her stuff for Holmes Pest Control, a bug-killing company in Nashville, Tenn.

She says her career change has been a “huge” transition, especially since her main concerns now are chemicals and insects, not heels and photo shoots.

Holmes was fortunate enough to not run into any “pests” during her modeling career. As she puts it, “I didn’t get to see or be involved in any of the cat fights that seem to happen these days.”

Although Holmes says she wants to be “taken seriously,” she now does some modeling on the side, figuring, “I’m not ugly. I’m 38 years old and I’m still so firm.”

While Holmes may still be sexy, more eyes are focused on her business skills than her curves. Case in point: She recently won an award for “outstanding achievement in business” from Minorities and Women in Business magazine
