Keiko Speaks – But Who Will Play Him In The Movie?

ELGIN, Ore. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Keiko the killer whale – who was featured in the Free Willy movies – has been dead since 2003, but he still lives on in the mind of an animal communicator in Oregon.

Bonnie Norton has been in telepathic communication with Keiko since 1997 and still maintains contact with him from beyond the grave.

The duo recently collaborated on the whale’s memoirs, Keiko Speaks (Animal Messenger Publishing), which reveals that animal experts tried to get Keiko to hang with his own kind, but, it didn’t work because, as Norton puts it, “the other whales got territorial and annoying and didn’t appreciate his big ideas about the relationship between humans and whales.”

The book also uncovers that Keiko never heard the song Michael Jackson sang for Free Willy 2, but he once spent three hours with a Norwegian girl who kept playing the tune on her harmonica.

Norton is hoping to turn Keiko’s memoirs into a screenplay but admits it will be hard to find a whale with acting ability – so she recommends using existing footage of the orca superstar.
