LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – On February 13, dysfunctional couples everywhere should finally break up.

It’s the first annual “Get Out Now Day,” a holiday meant to motivate couples in hopeless relationships to end things once and for all.

Holiday creator Richard Halpern says it’s the perfect push for those who’ve been itching to dump their lover. offers advice on how to cut ties, whether it’s at a restaurant, through a “break up greeting card,” or via email.

Halpern believes celebrating the holiday right before Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) is befitting.

This way, people can get out of their relationship just in time, before having to buy their soon-to-be ex a pricey Valentine’s Day gift.

He thinks folks will feel “liberated” afterwards and bars may see a spike in business from singles going out to celebrate come V-Day.

Halpern says the poster duo for “Get Out Now Day” are Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, who should cut their losses.
