‘Balloon Boy’ Should Foot Bill Himself

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Mischievous “Balloon Boy” must pay – perhaps with his own allowance for his fake joyride.

According to reports, search efforts for six-year-old Falcon Heene, who was falsely “floating” in his parents’ homemade aircraft over Colorado, cost about $28,000.

Parenting expert Michael Pearl, of No Greater Joy Ministries, believes Falcon’s parents should discipline the boy by making him foot the bill out of his own piggy bank.

He says letting him pay for it will teach him about consequences and how to take responsibility for his actions.

Everytime he gets an allowance, Pearl says the child should put the “cash into an envelope and mail it off.”

To pay off the hefty debt, Falcon should pick up odd jobs around the house and keep working on the balance no matter how long it takes.

With steady work, Falcon should be out of the hole by the time he’s 18.

Pearl believes this disciplinary method is more effective than spanking Falcon.
