The PDSA, or Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals, is the UKs leading pet charity, and theyre leading the fight against pet obesity by holding the Pet Fit Club.
Nine overweight animals have been chosen to participate in the Fit Club based on their immediate diet needs.
One fat cat named Socrates weighs a whopping 22 pounds, which he gained by feasting non-stop on cheese and onion-flavored potato chips.
All participating pets have been put on a strict diet and exercise plan to help them slim down and improve their life pet-spectancy.
Spokesperson Elaine Pendlebury says masters are to blame for bloated pets since they often feed them fattening treats like cookies, hot dogs, and pigs ears.
She adds, Giving pets treats is often seen as a way of winning their affection. But in reality, theyre killing them with kindness.
