Jordan Murphy, host of VH1’s bad boyfriend bootcamp Tool Academy, admits he’s dabbled in toolhood.
Back in his 20s, Murphy was a tool to a few girlfriends but wasn’t necessarily an “excessive douche” fit for Tool Academy.
He didn’t sport frosted tips in his hair or spit cheesy pick-up lines, but he did exhibit “toolish behavior” by surrounding himself with other D-bags.
Now, as a reformed tool, Murphy is happy to help modern-day douchebags see the light and have that “come to Jesus awakening.”
Those who fail to change on the show hear Murphy’s signature dismissal line, “You’re just a tool,” which he secretly “relishes” saying to certain contestants.
Murphy says the phrase gives him power over tools like “You’re Fired” gives Donald Trump power over apprentices.
Tool Academy’s second season premieres Sunday (Aug. 30) on VH1.
