Friends Take Virtual Road Trip

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Two friends are taking a road trip across America without ever leaving their homes.

Los Angeles-based Marc Horowitz and his pal Pete Baldes, who lives in Richmond, Virgina, wanted to go on a cross country road trip together, but decided to take the information superhighway instead of a regular highway with their “Google Maps Road Trip.”

From their home computers, the two use Google maps and “drive” through freeways using the little arrows on the website, projecting where they’re going from a blue screen behind them.

When they arrive at a location, they project a video from YouTube of that place, so it’s just like they’re visiting.

Just like a normal road trip, the two sing songs – mainly “These Eyes” by The Guess Who over and over again – play games like I Spy, take bathroom breaks when they find an exit, and even pick up hitchhikers, who are actually friends that stop by their houses.
