Hot Wings: Ultimate Hazing Ritual

EATONTOWN, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One restaurant’s incredibly hot wings have become the ultimate hazing ritual.

Billy Ellsworth owns a Cluck-U Chicken restaurant in Eatontown, New Jersey, near Monmouth University.

The eatery is known for their chicken wings, especially their 911 Wing Challenge, which dares patrons to eat 10 of the world’s hottest wings in five minutes without a single sip of water.

Ellsworth says the Challenge so painful, college frat guys often make new recruits do it as a hazing ritual.

But not many can complete the task.

In the 18 years he’s owned the restaurant, only 22 people have had their victory pictures posted on the “Wall Of Flame.”

Ellsworth himself doesn’t even recommend attempting the fiery feat, since “one bite leaves you in pain for 20 minutes.”

He’s seen grown men instantly cry while eating the wings and has even received phone calls from the nearby hospital wondering how to cure patients who check in after the Challenge.
