London Hotel Offers Bedtime Stories

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Nothing sends people off into a slumber like a Scottish man reading them a bedtime story.

To celebrate London Book Week, the Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel in London is providing their guests with the Reader in Residence service today (Apr. 17) through April 25.

At the request of a guest, the hotel sends their resident reader, a strapping Scottish journalist dressed in designer pajamas, to their rooms to read them a story chosen from a book menu, which includes everything from Ulysses and War And Peace, to steamy Jackie Collins novels.

Spokesperson Simon Warrington says, “The last time most people were read to they were children, so it brings back a warm, welcoming feeling for them. Our reader has a very calming voice. You hear him speak and you want to fall asleep.”

There are some rules to the bedtime service. Warrington explains that the reader insists on not doing any voices or accents for characters and has a strict no cuddling in bed rule.
