Handcuffs Get The Best Of Amber Tamblyn

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Amber Tamblyn is finding it difficult to work off-the-cuff – the handcuffs, that is.

Tamblyn stars in the upcoming ABC dramedy, The Unusuals, a series about a group of New York City police detectives who handle the strangest cases in the area.

She admits that incorporating handcuffs into her action scenes in a cool, nonchalant way is extremely difficult.

Everytime she has to cuff a perp while saying her lines, she’s only able to get the handcuffs on one of the criminal’s hands.

That causes her to lose it and “start sobbing” on camera, which doesn’t help her look like a tough member of the NYPD.

Tamblyn explains, “Oh, man, cuffing someone is so hard. To do it gracefully – not even gracefully, but just to look tough. To look like you know what you’re doing. I’ve tried it several times.”

However, co-star Adam Goldberg assures Tamblyn that she’s a natural.

He jokes, “Amber has also been arrested quite a few times.”

The Unusuals premieres Wednesday (Apr. 8) on ABC.
