Tough Truckers Secretly Love Dolls

DE RIDDER, La. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Trucker dudes can’t drive their semi past a doll without stopping.

Though most people wouldn’t think it, Todd Suire, spokesperson for the Louisiana Doll Festival, says tough, 18- wheeler driving truckers are big softies when it comes to dolls, and have been known to collect the girly toys.

Suire says, “You wouldn’t think of a big manly trucker collecting dolls, but there are many that do. It’s surprising.”

According to Suire, Truckers have an advantage that the average doll collecting housewife doesn’t have.

Since truckers drive across the country, they are able to look for rare and antique dolls all over America instead of in just one state.

Though some truckers are open about their secret love of dolls, many say they are simply buying dolls on the road for their wives back home to hide their shame.

Truckers will have a chance to add adorable dollies to their collections at the Louisiana Doll Festival this weekend (Apr. 4- 5) in De Ridder, Louisiana.
