Don’t Mess With Russian Spetsnaz

DETROIT (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Russian special forces – or Spetsnaz – could combat any warrior in history and win.

That’s what biomedical engineer Geoff Desmoulin concluded while filming Deadliest Warrior, a new series that pits history’s greatest warriors against one another to determine who reigns supreme.

Using stats, medical facts, and computer analysis, experts declare winners in battles like Gladiator vs. Apache, Pirate vs. Knight, Ninja vs. Spartan, and Green Beret vs. Spetznaz.

Desmoulin inputs numerical data to determine factors like the lethality of a warrior’s strike, and says no one has a prayer if they’re up against a Spetsnaz.

He sparred against one on the show and vouches, “Those guys are scary!”

Other tough warriors to beat are ninjas, whose “eclectic weapons” often give them the upper-hand.

Desmoulin says ninjas have been known to carry “glass- filled eggs” – eggs that have been drained and stuffed with sharp glass – and smash them into their opponent’s face when they least expect it.

Deadliest Warrior premieres April 7 on Spike TV.
