Jeff Burton: ‘NASCAR Is A Mini Soap Opera’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You wouldn’t believe the drama that goes down in the NASCAR pit.

Just ask NASCAR legend Jeff Burton, who’s guest starring on an episode of General Hospital next Wednesday (Mar. 18).

Though Burton doesn’t follow daytime soap operas, he says NASCAR is it’s own dramatic mini soap in and of itself.

He explains, “We have every kind of personality out there on the track. There are villains, heroes, people in between, and very excited fans who love to boo and cheer.”

Burton says part of the drama in NASCAR comes from the competitive aspect, where people “root on their favorites and pull against their rivals.”

But the racing champ’s drama isn’t just confined to the track.

With two kids ages eight and 13, Burton says he and his wife have their own drama at home.

This includes homework, chauffeuring his kids around, and prepping them with early driver’s training on golf carts and four-wheelers.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
