Tom Brokaw Takes Road Trips Like A Man

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to road trips, renowned journalist Tom Brokaw takes the open highway like a man.

This fall, USA Network and NBC will launch a new TV project called Highway 50: A Road Trip Across America, which follows Brokaw as he travels Highway 50 documenting lives of Americans.

Brokaw admits he’s “always wanted to travel like Willie Nelson,” and is looking forward to hearing what average folks have to say about the economy and American life.

While Brokaw has traveled far and wide as a reporter, he’s never been on a road trip quite like this before.

However, he’ll take the cruisin’ like a man and doesn’t see himself getting car sick because, in his words, “I grew up in South Dakota where a short trip to the grocery store was 45 minutes!”

Brokaw recalls his first road trip in 1950 at the age of 10, when his father loaded him and his brothers in a Chevy and drove from South Dakota to California.

He says, “Three boys in the back seat of a 1950 Chevy with no air conditioning – now THAT’S the ultimate road trip!”
