Michael Ohlsson runs weirdmeat.com, a blog about his encounters with hundreds of strange foods including dog meat, rooster testicles, bull penis, and his favorite balut duck embryo an egg containing a half-formed baby duck.
Because of its appearance, Ohlsson says balut is hard to eat, but its surprisingly tasty going down.
He explains, It has a very complex flavor. Its savory and salty. Its like an egg but more.
Ohlsson whos always been an adventurous eater will pretty much try anything once but admits he draws the line at eating monkey.
Hes never gotten sick from weird eats while living in China but did get food poisoning once, ironically, from a batch of bad broccoli.
Although hes eaten everything from honeybees to rat, his stomach isnt settled just yet.
Up next on his list is a whole goat head and all, and an Italian cheese covered in maggots.
