‘Slumdog Millionaire’ Wins Best Oscar-Themed Party

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The slums of India can provide fun fodder for an Oscar viewing party this Sunday (Feb. 22).

According to Harry Medved of – the nation’s leading movie-ticketing destination – a Slumdog Millionaire-themed Oscar viewing party is a fun way to celebrate the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

Since the film takes place in India, partiers can wear traditional Indian garb like saris or scarves in vibrant colors or raggy, old clothes like real-life slum kids.

Hosts can serve Indian food such as chicken tikka masala, curry, rice, naan, and samosas, and offer Darjeeling tea or Kingfisher India Pale Ale to sip on.

Since the film revolves around the main character landing a spot on a TV trivia show, trivia games are a must at the bash.

Groups can play Trivial Pursuit or quiz themselves on Oscar factoids while hosts award gold foil-wrapped chocolate coins as prizes.

Medved says Slumdog is by far the “most celebratory” of all the 2009 Best Picture nominees, which makes it the perfect theme for an Oscar viewing party.
