‘Eye Of The Tiger’ Turns Into Jazz Song

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The iconic ’80s hit “Eye Of The Tiger” is getting a swanky, jazzy do-over.

The infamous Rocky theme song – co-written by former Survivor member Jim Peterik – has been made into a jazz version for Peterik’s new CD, Lifeforce.

Peterik says remaking his motivational hit for the smooth genre was quite challenging.

He explains, “It was very strange at first, but I told my band to twist the cords and get weirder with the riffs.”

Peterik also had to change his voice to sound jazzy and slick, so he dimmed the lights and lit candles and incense to get in the mood.

Though his new version is no longer suited for the boxing ring or dramatic, Rocky-style stair climbing, Peterik hopes it still pumps people up.

He says, “It’s good to listen to while drinking champagne and dancing. It’ll give you a new kind of energy!”

Peterik hopes his jazz songs make it into movies someday, only this time, instead of a scene featuring a sweaty Sly Stallone, Peterik’s music will be used in romantic love scenes.
