This year, more men than ever will get together with their buddies on V-Day to celebrate their bromance the tight bond between bros.
CJ Pascoe, author of Dude, Youre A Fag: Masculinity And Sexuality In High School (University of California Press), says men are becoming more open about showing love for their bros, and even opting to spend the Valentines Day on a man date instead of going out with a lady friend.
However, dudes make sure to keep it manly by going to strip clubs and sports bars with their buds so theyre not dubbed fags.
She explains, If a group of guys got together for dinner on Valentines Day, they might be subject to teasing. Guys are more likely to engage in stereotypical masculine activities as a shield, then commiserate about being single.
Pascoe believes bromantic behavior makes the world a better place and encourages fellas to keep the bromance alive.
