Gary Sinise Keeps Lt. Dan Rockin’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For CSI:NY star Gary Sinise, one of his past film roles just keeps on rockin’.

Sinise – who plays Detective Mac Taylor on CSI:NY, currently airing daily on Spike TV – is renowned for his iconic role as war veteran Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump.

Fans across the world recognize him as the serviceman, and Sinise even has his very own cover band called the Lt. Dan Band.

His posse plays gigs all over the country for the troops – Lt. Dan’s biggest fanbase.

Sinise says he’s used to military folks calling him Lt. Dan during concerts and adds, “Forrest Gump is just one of those movies that keeps on going.”

The band covers everything from classic rock and soul, to country and contemporary jams.

Sinise’s favorite ditty to play on stage is “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire, though he enjoys incorporating a tune from CSI:NY into his act too.

The Lt. Dan Band performs “Baba O’Riley” by The Who – which is CSI: NY’s theme song – for all the fans of the TV series.
