So says kissing expert Andrea Demirjian, who encourages drunken canoodlers to consider movie rating standards for their New Year’s kiss.
She says, “You want to keep it PG, especially if you’re kissing someone you don’t know. If they react in an excited way and get that twinkle in their eye, move to PG- 13.”
There’s nothing wrong with an R-rated kiss either, but only if it’s done in a dark, discreet corner.
However, Demirjian says an NC-17 kiss is never okay because, “No one wants to watch that.”
She advises those who get caught up in the moment to watch their hands because that’s how a sweet smooch turns into a full-on makeout mess.
Though the champagne will be flowing, Demirjian also advises revelers to take it easy on the drinks because you “don’t get to enjoy nice kissing when you’re a sloppy mess.”
