‘The Office’ Not Taking Applications

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s tough to land a guest starring role on The Office – even for the biggest Hollywood celebrities.

That’s the word from cast member Oscar Nunez, who says the mockumentary comedy series just isn’t made to host guest stars.

Although leading ladies like Helen Mirren and Carol Burnett have openly praised The Office and hinted at wanting a guest role, Nunez says it’s tough to promise big stars anything.

He explains, “It’d be weird to write a big time, recognizable celebrity into a show about an office in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It just doesn’t really fit the plot. It’s not really the type of show where you can have celebrity guests.”

Nunez believes the only exception would be a guest star who’s not really that famous.

He’s not taking any bribes from celebs who want to appear on the show because he doesn’t have much pull on the matter.

The fifth season of The Office premieres tonight (Sep. 25) on NBC.
