Original Hulk Says You Can’t Fake The Green

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Original Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno says it’s not easy being green.

Ferrigno – who played the angry, green beast on the 70s television series The Incredible Hulk – says today’s use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) doesn’t stack up to the old special effects methods that gave the Hulk his notorious green hue in the first place.

Back in his Hulk days, Ferrigno says he would sit in the make- up chair for 12 hours to turn into the big, green destruction machine, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

He says, “I don’t wish they had CGI back then. Nothing’s gonna replace the old make-up methods.”

Ferrigno admits that being painted green was an uncomfortable experience, but seeing himself transform into the Hulk is what helped him get into character.

Though the latest Hulk actor Edward Norton never truly dons the green skin in The Incredible Hulk, Ferrigno is happy to pass the torch to the him and adds, “He’s gonna go far.”
