Bill Engvall Follows Path Of Wholesome TV Dads

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Funnyman Bill Engvall is taking cues from wholesome sitcom dads like Bill Cosby and Dick Van Dyke.

Engvall – star of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour along with Jeff Foxworthy – has his own TBS sitcom, The Bill Engvall Show, and hopes his TV family lives up to the wholesome Huxtables of The Cosby Show and other positive sitcom clans.

Through his show, Engvall wants to bring back “traditional family comedy” that’s currently missing from the trash on the tube.

He cites The Cosby Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Leave It To Beaver as inspiration for his sitcom, and says modest TV like that is hard to come by.

Engvall says, “Sometimes I watch TV with my mouth wide open because I can’t believe the content! I wanted to do a show that parents would be able to watch with their kids without worrying about language and what’s gonna pop up on the screen.”

He’s gotten good feedback about the show from his fans so far and says his Blue Collar posse also approves.

The second season of The Bill Engvall Show premieres this Thursday (Jun. 12) on TBS.
