Haylie Duff Gets Her Thrills

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Haylie Duff has a soft spot for creepy horror flicks.

Duff – best known for her roles on Napoleon Dynamite and Material Girls alongside sis Hilary Duff – is starring in Backwoods, a terrifying thriller about a group of people fighting for their lives in the booby-trapped backwoods.

Although the premise of the movie sounds scary, Duff says the role was enjoyable because her character was one tough cookie.

She enjoys acting in thrillers and horror flicks because, in her words, “The characters tend to be more diverse and playing a survivor is always fun.”

Duff cites “Ashley Judd-type thrillers” as her favorite films from the genre, and will watch any horror movies – except for slasher flicks.

She says, “I don’t like seeing a bunch of blood on the screen. That’s just gross. I don’t like slashers. I’d rather be on the edge of my seat, watching a thriller.”

Backwoods premieres this Sunday (Jun. 8) on Spike TV.
