Retro UFO Convention Gets Spacey

LANDERS, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A retro UFO convention in Landers, California, is pulling out all the spacey stops.

The Third Annual Retro UFO Space Convention is beaming down on the desert city this weekend (Apr. 26-27), and attendees will be celebrating alien life in a bizarre building called the “Integratron,” a dome-shaped electrostatic generator built by ufologist George Van Tassel in 1954.

Van Tassel built the energy dome after being contacted by aliens who urged him to create a structure that could extend human life.

Among the spacey events at the fest, guests can enjoy a musical production that depicts cowboys having encounters with extraterrestrials, a costume contest, and a competition to see who can make the best aluminum hat.

Event organizer Barbara Harris says the small desert gathering is the perfect place for alien abductees to share their experiences, as experts are on hand to talk about the E.T. trauma and answer questions about things like alien implants.

And attendees may even experience their own UFO sightings.

Harris says many people have seen floating lights and strange movements above the Integratron, since the area is a hotbed for magnetic activity.
