Tina Fey Cracks Up Under Pressure

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tina Fey is cracking under pressure – cracking up, that is.

As the star of the hit comedy series 30 Rock, Tina Fey admits she’s happy playing the role of Liz Lemon, and has no plans to bring any of her political preferences to the TV table.

Fey – who used to host the politically-charged “Weekend Update” segment on Saturday Night Live – says, “I don’t want to do news humor. It’s a lot of pressure, I prefer just telling stories and being in character.”

And while she appears on the April issue of Vanity Fair in the magazine’s push to recognize the talents of female comedians, Fey isn’t feeling the pressure to carry the comedy torch.

She says, “There are so many women succeeding in comedy. I’m not the ‘Face of ladies in comedy.’”

New episodes of 30 Rock start tonight (Apr. 10) on NBC.
