Easter Bunnies Have A Silent, Sweaty Job

DENVER, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being the Easter Bunny is a silent, sweaty job, but someone has to do it.

John Shager has been a professional Easter Bunny at parties, nursing homes, and country clubs for the past 16 years, and says being an “egg-cellent” bunny takes more than just a pair of ears and a cotton tail.

He explains, “It’s really tough because the Easter Bunny doesn’t talk. It’s all in the hands. I high five, play peak-a-boo, tickle them a little bit, or give them candy. Anything that’s not scary works.”

For Shager, bringing happiness to a child is the only reason anyone should ever hop into a rabbit suit, but being a bunny has its drawbacks.

He says, “I’m 235 pounds and wearing a bunny suit that’s busting at the seams. I’m sweating buckets.”

But Shager has a solution to his perspiration problem.

He says, “I can’t find a size XXXL bunny suit, but I can fit in mine as long as I don’t wear anything underneath it.”
