Big Wheel Racing A Dangerous Sport

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Racing Big Wheels is quite possibly the world’s most dangerous sport.

The 8th Annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel Race is skidding into San Francisco this Sunday (Mar. 23), and more than 250 racers will be hauling down 500 feet of the Bay City’s curviest street on the little kid racing bikes.

According to sport creator Jon Brumit, the race is an “exercise of shared futility,” and participants should worry less about winning and more about surviving the careening course.

He explains, “I’ve seen people get sprained ankles, huge gashes, and hernias. It’s terrible. It could be one of the most dangerous races in the U.S., but it’s an amazing thing.”

This year’s race is expected to bring more blood and gore to the course, because the street where it’s taking place is, as Brumit calls it, “rougher and gnarlier.”

But it’s nothing participators should fear, because Brumit, who’s spent half of his life “eating sh■■,” assures that everyone’s equally out of control.
