Hair Guru Becomes ‘Hairstorian’ To The Stars

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Florida-based hairdresser is a “hairstorian” of celebrity tresses.

Jesse Briggs owns the Yellow Strawberry Global Salon Chain and has styled the locks of celebrities like Liza Minnelli and Shari Lewis.

Through styling the manes of celebs, Briggs has become an avid “hairstorian,” and owns a collection of hair snipped from the heads of everyone from George Washington to actor Jan-Michael Vincent.

Briggs’ collection is a cut above the rest and includes 100 strands of John Lennon’s hair – which Briggs believes are worth about $60,000 – some locks from Paul McCartney, a hunka-hunk of Elvis’ hair, and trimmings from Marilyn Monroe and JFK.

At one point, Briggs even owned a strand of Napoleon’s locks worth $250,000, but it was stolen from the salon’s display case in what Briggs believes was an inside job.

And while his collection has plenty of volume, he’d like to add a piece of Britney Spears’ hair to it someday, since, in his words, “Everyone knows who she is and her hair has been through a lot.”

However, there’s one famous follicle that isn’t welcome in Briggs’ salon.

He explains, “I wouldn’t want anything to do with the Queen of Mean, Leona Hemsley’s hair. I wouldn’t even want to touch it!”
