Wilmer Valderrama Fights For His Hollywood Break

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – That 70’s Show alum Wilmer Valderrama is one of young Hollywood’s hottest actors, but back in the day, he was knocking down doors just to get an audition.

Valderrama – who’s rumored to be playing Francis “Ponch” Poncherello in a big screen version of CHiPs in 2009 – says before he hit it big in showbiz, he was driving to auditions with his dad, hoping to be discovered.

Says Valderrama: “When we moved from Venezuela to Los Angeles, I told my dad I thought I could make money from acting. We gathered some money for headshots and drove all over town to every audition we could find. I went to callbacks I wasn’t even called in for and showed up to auditions uninvited – anything to catch that break!”

Valderrama’s lucky streak came when he scored the part of Fez in That 70’s Show, and the rest is rags- to-riches history.

Valderrama adds, “That 70’s Show was the biggest break my family ever had, and it lasted eight years. My parents came to America for a better life and it has been amazing. They’ve been my biggest fans and that makes me want to keep working my butt off!”
