‘Survivor’ Champ Stays Skinny, Takes The Cake

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Years of preparation and some half-eaten meals helped one reality show contestant walk away with a hefty million dollar jackpot.

Todd Herzog won the $1 million crown on CBS’ Survivor: China this past Sunday (Dec. 16), and the 22- year-old contest champion says winning the televised trophy came after years of yearning.

Herzog says, “I’ve been a die-hard Survivor fan since I was 15. The fact that I ended up winning shocks me!”

To achieve Survivor success, Herzog cut his meals in half and ate only liquids like soups and protein shakes prior to the show, which kept his hunger focused on the crown, not chowing down.

He says, “I knew that going in at 145 pounds, I wasn’t going to be the strongest, and I don’t have a degree in anything, so I’m not brainy, but I knew how to play the game.”

And while Herzog is planning to stay smart with his cash by investing, a little splurging of his prize money means his family will be surviving the holidays in style.

He says, “Christmas is going to be a good one for my family!”
