Adam best known for his work on Chicago Hope currently stars in the NBC drama series, Life, and says growing up alongside his silver screen dad has been an incredible experience with a few minor bumps along the way.
Although Adams decision to follow in his dads footsteps as an actor came early and naturally for him, life in front of the camera also came with some serious pressure.
Says Adam: I was 12 years old when I acted in my first project, which was a short film directed by my dad. It truly was a pressured experience. Being directed by my dad was very intimidating.
As a young adult, living in Papa Arkins shadow made Adam self-conscious.
He says, I would go out of my way to make it clear to everyone that I wasnt acting to imitate my father, I was acting for myself.
But nowadays, Adam is thankful to have learned from the best.
He explains, As Ive gotten older, I dont know where my dads influence ends and my own passion [for acting] begins. I idolize my dad, its just how I grew up. Im so happy and inspired by his success.
