‘ABC PrimeTime” Anchor Is A Polygamy Pro

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – ABC PrimeTime anchor John Quinones reports on various subjects, but his real forte is investigating polygamy in America.

That’s the news flash from Quinones, who has extensively covered a religious sect in Colorado City, Arizona, over the years that forces its young female members into polygamous marriages.

Quinones has visited the practicing polygamy town five times to talk to Mormon polygamist leader Warren Jepps and his multiple wives, and everytime, Quinones is shocked by the polygamist lifestyle.

He explains, “This breakaway fundamentalist group [Latter Day Saints] Jepps belongs to follows the original Mormon teachings that say it’s okay to have four, five, six, seven, wives. It’s like that show Big Love, but it’s the real Big Love. I mean, there’s a lot of love there. It’s pretty shocking.”

But despite the widespread love in the polygamy town, Quinones doesn’t get much love himself when he visits.

Quinones explains, “Each time we go they slap our cameras around. My heart skips a beat because people are armed in those communities and could shoot you. I’m like, ‘I’m just a reporter, I’ve got a notebook, don’t do anything crazy!’”
