Chris Hardwick Isn’t Ashamed To Love Science

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Comedian Chris Hardwick has a shameless confession to make: He loves science.

Hardwick – best known as Jenny McCarthy’s co- host on MTV’s 1990s dating show, Singled Out – is hosting a new educational series on PBS called Wired Science, and he’s happy to finally share his nerdy love of science with the world.

Hardwick explains, “Science has always fascinated me, whether it’s processes, or what things are made of, or scientific ideas. My friends and family always laugh at me for being such a geek, but I can’t help it. I really found my community with Wired Science, with people who won’t chastise me for loving science!”

In addition to his new hosting gig, Hardwick praises his favorite subject through his musical comedy duo, Hard ’N Phirm, in which he and his pal Mike Phirman sing about scientific processes like the Carbon Cycle, the heart, and Pi.

Hardwick says, “We thought it was time Pi got a song, since it’s like, the longest number ever. We like to make fun of these lengthy, scientific processes, but still teach people something useful. Hopefully we’re funnier than your old science teacher.”

Wired Science premieres tomorrow (Oct. 3) on PBS.
